National Restaurant Development, Inc. is committed to serving others and being a caring, responsible member of society. For NRD, community service is not a “cost of business”, it is a core belief underpinned by our value of Generosity, which we define as giving freely of our time, talent and knowledge. Serving our communities, our country and the world are a big part of who we are at NRD. The following are some of the organizations we have partnered with:

ProStart is the career-building program for high school students who are interested in culinary arts and foodservice management.
Over two challenging and rewarding years, ProStart students experience classroom study, mentored work experiences, and local and national competitions. ProStart works for students, parents, teachers and the restaurant and foodservice industry. It involves approximately 80,000 student participants in more than 1,650 schools, across 47 states, territories and districts.

The CARRE Foundations provides leadership through charitable giving to assist other non-profit organizations that support those suffering from disability, disease, illness, and other hardships, as well as other organizations that promote the development of programs that extol the virtues of leadership.

NRD believes in local volunteerism! Every NRD employee is encouraged to volunteer and to help our local communities.

From devastating floods in the Midwest and raging hurricanes in the South, disasters do not discriminate and rarely give ample warning. That's why Checkers and Rally's created the C.A.R.E. fund to aid our employees when help is needed the most. C.A.R.E. was established in 2005 following the devastation from Hurricane Katrina. Since its inception, C.A.R.E. has provided much needed to support to many of our employees who were victims of hurricanes, home fires, floods, and other unexpected losses.
